Role Overview:
We're looking for a commercially-minded Paid Media leader to take ownership of our paid media offering and lead the team that delivers it.
As Head of Paid Media, you'll own paid media from end to end across a portfolio of B2B technology clients. That covers everything from strategic direction and media planning through to channel optimisation, attribution, reporting and team performance. You'll set the standard for how paid media is planned, delivered and scaled at Geeky Tech, while staying close enough to the work to challenge thinking and drive best practice.
This is a leadership role with real influence, not just oversight. You'll lead and mentor our PPC Strategists and Executives, build the processes and SOPs that keep delivery consistent, and work alongside our SEO, content and design teams so our paid media work is joined up and commercially effective. You'll also play an active part in pitches and growth, helping position Geeky Tech as a credible performance partner.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership:
  • Own the paid media strategy across our B2B technology client portfolio, making sure activity aligns with client objectives and commercial goals.
  • Define how performance is measured and delivered, setting clear standards across all accounts.
  • Shape cross-channel strategy across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads, DV360, StackAdapt and emerging platforms.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor and develop the Paid Media team (PPC Strategists and Executives), creating a culture of high performance, collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Manage weekly handoffs, capacity and quality across the team's workload.
  • Support the growth of the function through coaching, future hires and freelance support as we scale.

Campaign Oversight (Hands-On):
  • Stay actively involved in campaign planning, setup, QA, optimisation and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee budget allocation and bidding approaches across platforms.
  • Step in quickly where performance drops or opportunities are spotted.

Client Leadership:
  • Own senior stakeholder relationships from a performance perspective.
  • Deliver useful insight and clear recommendations through monthly reporting and client check-ins.
  • Offer constructive challenge and clear strategic direction.

Data, Tracking & Insight:
  • Oversee measurement and conversion-tracking frameworks across accounts.
  • Make sure reporting focuses on business impact, not just platform metrics.
  • Turn insight into clear actions for both clients and internal teams.

Commercial Growth:
  • Contribute to new business, pitching and growth strategy, building performance thinking into how we win work.
  • Develop performance-led narratives, forecasts and media plans.

Innovation & AI:
  • Keep pace with platform changes, AI and automation, and bring in new tools and approaches where they add real value.

Key Relationships:
  • Reports To: Head of Service Delivery / Paid Media Director
  • Manages: PPC Strategists and PPC Executives
  • Collaborates With: Head of SEO Strategy and SEO Specialists (cross-channel coordination), Design and Content teams (asset delivery), and wider agency leadership on growth and positioning.

Qualifications
Essential:
  • Significant experience leading paid media strategy across both Paid Search and Paid Social.
  • A proven track record in managing and mentoring high-performing paid media teams.
  • Experience managing significant, multi-channel paid media budgets.
  • Strong expertise across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Microsoft Ads.
  • Commercially strong and analytical, confident with forecasting, attribution and connecting paid activity to business growth.
  • A confident communicator who's comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with analytics and tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio.
  • Someone who enjoys building, improving and scaling, and thrives in a self-managed, remote-first environment.

Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience with platforms like DV360 and StackAdapt, and additional channels such as Native, DOOH or Audio.
  • Experience in B2B or tech-sector paid media.
  • An agency background, or in-house experience with strong agency-style pace and variety.
  • An interest in AI and emerging technologies within paid media.
